Occasionally I want to illustrate something which relates to a post vise so I looked for examples and wasn’t satisfied with what I could find.
There were lots of images and a few drawings but none which were labeled or exploded. So, I made my own drawing. On 12/3/13 I posted the assembled and exploded versions to the Trimble 3D Warehouse.
Assembled:
Exploded:
My labeling may be a bit arbitrary but I wanted to post something which beginners could use as a guide when shopping for an old post vise. First, they need to be sure they have all the parts or at least all the parts which would be difficult to make.
Condition of the parts is another issue as is proper lubrication and maintenance.
